As a mother, she cares that her son is protected from the eyes of America and as a wife, that her husband’s pride remains intact.

In an age of oversharing and performative vulnerability, her disinterest in keeping up appearances is a middle finger to the prying eyes of a public that has never deserved her. She has realised that the only way to win a rigged game is to refuse to play by the rules of those who hate you.
